Prayer Requests and Updates

From Ken Graham, pastor, Bloomington/Canton/Springfield, IL:
Lauren Graham, our daughter, suffered an auto accident June 12th with severe brain trauma, a broken foot and collar bone and other complications.   In ICU almost two weeks, she is responding and healing physically very well at the hospital in Chicago.  It appears, however, there are various areas of the brain either not yet healed or damaged by the severe head trauma.  Many months will probably be required for healing and relearning various skills, but with prayer, God can certainly intervene and provide complete recovery.

From Don Henson, pastor, Pittsburgh, PA; Wheeling, WV:
Elizabeth Kyle, age 5, is in remission from leukemia with now only point seven percent leukemia cells still present in the bone marrow.  No further treatments will be required.  Parents Bill & Jackie and the family are thankful for all the cards and prayers during her two-plus years of treatment.

From Roger West, pastor, Bentonville/Fort Smith/Mena, AR:
Leola Johnson had a hysterectomy and the cancer is in remission.  Her next checkup is at the end of August, and she appreciates the cards from all over the world.

From Vince Szymkowiak, pastor,
St. Louis/Rolla, MO; Fairview Heights , IL:

Prayers are requested for Dave Goodwin, age 44, of the St. Louis, MO, congregation, who has cirrhosis of the liver. He is self-employed as a painting contractor and is unable to work. He is in great pain, cannot eat and is suffering from fluid buildup in his abdomen and legs.  He is married (Desiree) and has a 12-year-old daughter, Heather.

From the home office:
From the family of Peter Eddington, a very heartfelt and grateful thank you to our beloved brothers and sisters around the world for their prayers and loving concern.  After a very difficult time Thursday night and Friday morning, Peter turned a corner and by early evening Saturday he was well enough to be discharged from the hospital.  He is able to manage residual pain with medications at home. He will remain under the care of doctors for several weeks, but barring unforeseen complications, a full recovery is expected.

From Rick Beam, pastor,
Cape Girardeau/Poplar Bluff, MO; Paducah , KY:
On July 3, my wife, Angela, developed an intestinal blockage. Surgery was performed July 7th late afternoon to remove it.  The cancer had not returned. The blockage occurred due to complications and interactions between a gallstone, small intestine, gall bladder, and stomach.  There should no longer be any problem after the surgery.  She'll probably be in the hospital for 5 days or so and she'll have about 6 weeks of recovery time.  Thanks to everyone for their continued prayers and concern.

From Steve Moody,
pastor, Jackson/Memphis, TN; Sedgwick/Little Rock, AR:

Many have been praying for Mary Kinchen, a member of the Jackson, TN, congregation.  She has had an ongoing struggle with a heart artery blockage. She had bypass surgery several years ago, but a blockage began to develop again about a year ago.  She subsequently had stints inserted to correct the problem. Her doctors have now determined this artery is again 70 percent blocked.  Last month, Mary went for another bypass, but before the surgery, a heart catherization was performed and no blockage was found.  Mary was then released to go home.  Mary and her husband Joe thanks everyone for their continued prayers.
